Getting started
notenwart runs in the browser – on a phone, a tablet or a computer. Nothing has to be installed; the address comes from your school or ensemble (for example https://noten.example.org).
Your first sign-in
You get an invitation link – by email, or handed over by whoever looks after notenwart at your organisation. It works once and for seven days. Open it, choose a password (at least 10 characters) and you are in. If the link has run out, ask for a new one; a new link replaces the old one.
Signing in later
- Email and password on the sign-in page.
- No password yet, or forgotten it? Enter your email address and choose Email me a sign-in link. The link works once, for 20 minutes. (Only when your server sends email; otherwise ask your admin for a new link.)
- With your school account: if your organisation has set it up, the sign-in page shows a button such as Sign in with Microsoft 365. This only works for people who already have an account in notenwart, with the same email address.
You stay signed in on a device for 30 days after your last visit. Sign out (top right, or in the menu on narrow screens) removes everything notenwart stored on the device, including music saved for offline use.
As an app on your home screen
notenwart can be added to the home screen like an app: in Safari on iPhone and iPad Share → Add to Home Screen, in Chrome on Android ⋮ → Add to Home screen or Install app. It then opens without the browser’s bars.
Your account
Your name (top right) opens your account page:
| Setting | |
|---|---|
| Name and password | the name others see; a new password needs the current one |
| Picture | a profile picture, if your organisation allows them – otherwise your initials are shown |
| Language | German or English; until you choose, notenwart follows the browser |
| Colours | light, dark or as on this device (also with the button in the header); remembered per device |
| Notifications | which messages you get, and how: in the app, by email, push (coming later) |
| Your data | Download my data gives you everything notenwart stores about you, as a file |
Notifications
The bell in the header shows how many messages are new. notenwart tells you about:
- new parts for you – a new part, a new work for your ensemble, or a single part given to you,
- a programme that was created or changed,
- a printed part you borrowed that is due tomorrow or overdue,
- markings a leader shared,
- (leaders) a guest link that runs out tomorrow.
On your account page you choose for each kind whether it appears in the app, comes by email, or both. Emails collect everything of a few minutes into one message. Nobody is told about what they did themselves.
